The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo has presented an amount of GHC5,000 each to three cocoa farmers who emerged as winners at the 2017 edition of the Cocoa of Excellence and International Cocoa Awards in Paris, France.

The farmers, Mr Simon Marfo from Santaso in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region, Mr John Kofi Asiamah, from Akim Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region and Mr Noah Obeng , Ntrikrom, Ahafo Ano South District in the Ashanti Region were awarded for quality, flavour and diversifying their cocoa products.
The award ceremony was organized by the Bioversity International and Event International in partnership with some chocolate manufacturers at the Salon du Chocolate, held in Paris from October 28 to November 1, 2017.
The event brought together leading sensory evaluation experts in the chocolate industry to evaluate, recognise and reward cocoa farmers with exceptional and unique flavours, while bringing know-how, market opportunities and incentives for safeguarding cocoa diversity to farming communities and national organisations globally.
